Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that the firm represented Renown Health, a large nonprofit health system headquartered in Reno, Nevada (“Renown”), in the reorganization of its cardiology service line. The reorganization was effectuated by the redesign of the employment arrangements between Renown and its employed cardiologists, including the implementation of a new incentive compensation program. The negotiations resulted in the cardiologists entering into new employment agreements with Renown, pursuant to which the cardiologists would continue to provide cardiology services on behalf of Renown. Healthcare partner Jim Owens and associate Josh Hill led the Paul Hastings team.
The Firm is representing Hellman & Friedman LLC in connection with the announced acquisition of Applied Systems, Inc. by investment funds advised by Hellman & Friedman for $1.8 billion. Applied Systems is being acquired from Bain Capital, a global private investment firm.
