Law firm Nixon Peabody has announced the opening of a permanent office in Palo Alto, California. The firm opened a temporary office in Silicon Valley in February, but hopes that the new office will facilitate their intended West Coast expansion.

Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP has announced that Robert Neufeld, formerly of Blank Rome LLP in New York, will join their Los Angeles office. Neufeld will join as a chief talent officer, the first time anyone at Sheppard Mullin has held this title. He will handle what Sheppard Mullin is referring to as the “associate lifecycle,” which includes recruiting, performance and development, diversity and inclusion, and direct practice group support.

The merger between Locke Liddell & Sapp PLLC and Lord Bissell & Brook LLP becomes official as of today. The new firm will be called Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP and has 700 attorneys in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, London, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Sacramento and Washington, D.C..
