Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo is thrilled to announce that attorney and education law veteran Ronald Wenkart has joined the firm’s Irvine offices as a partner. Ron has over four decades of experience in his field and, having served for over thirty four years as General Counsel to the Orange County Department of Education, brings a wealth of knowledge and insight regarding all public education and community college matters.

Ron has served the majority of his legal career in the field of public education, working for the Kern County Office of Education before moving to Orange County to begin his long and highly respected tenure in Orange County’s DOE. In his position as General Counsel, Ron oversaw the department’s legal affairs and expertly led his staff in advising local school districts, community college districts, the Orange County Superintendent of Schools, and the Orange County Board of Education. As a testament to his dedication and expertise, Mr. Wenkart recently received the Orange County School Boards Association’s Maureen DiMarco Award, a top honor designed to highlight exemplary and far-reaching leadership in service of Orange County’s youth.

Outside his profession, Ron enjoys traveling and spending time with family. Ron is looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild in January and taking on the role of grandfather.
