Alston & Bird today announced that it is continuing the expansion of its corporate practice in California with the addition of Ted Hollifield as a partner in the firm’s Silicon Valley office. Mr. Hollifield has practiced for 15 years in Silicon Valley, and he was recently recognized as one of the leading attorneys in the emerging growth arena. Mr. Hollifield’s arrival closely follows that of Lior Nuchi, also a leading practitioner in Silicon Valley.

Mr. Hollifield specializes in corporate and securities law with an emphasis on public equity and debt offerings, venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions and general representation of emerging growth companies.

Mr. Hollifield’s clients include established public corporations and private, venture-backed companies, and he has substantial experience representing clients in the telecommunications, electronic design automation (EDA), semiconductor, Internet and software industries. He also counsels boards of directors, CEOs and executive management on equity compensation, corporate governance, Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other regulatory and disclosure matters.

Mr. Hollifield has successfully completed numerous venture capital and other private placements, as well as several public offerings and secondary public offerings. He has also consummated multiple negotiated acquisitions and dispositions, including stock and asset purchases and mergers.

Mr. Hollifield earned a joint J.D./M.B.A. from the University of Virginia, where he graduated as a Shermet Scholar in the top 10 percent of his class.
