Bingham has expanded its Southern California presence and its corporate practice with the addition of Joshua Dean as a partner in the firm’s Orange County office.

Joining Bingham from Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, Dean has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings, recapitalizations and restructurings, and general business law matters.

“Josh’s arrival further strengthens our robust corporate practice both in Southern California and nationally,” said Jim Loss, managing partner of the Orange County office and co-leader of the firm’s corporate practice. “His deep experience across key business sectors — including financial services, investment banking, and private equity — will serve our clients well.”

Dean’s addition also underscores Bingham’s continued commitment to Orange County and Southern California, added Los Angeles partner Rick Welch, co-chair of Bingham’s corporate practice area. “Bingham continues to make significant investments in Southern California by adding top tier talent that enhances our key practices here. Josh’s broad corporate and financial institutions experience represents a nice addition for us.”

Dean joins a corporate team in the Orange County office that includes partner Chris Cox. Cox served as past chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission and was a 17-year member of Congress from California. Cox joined Bingham in 2009.

For Dean, Bingham’s notable reputation in the corporate practice area and its established presence in Southern California attracted him to the firm. “Bingham has an outstanding corporate practice both regionally and nationally, and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with such a superb group of lawyers.”

Dean received his law degree from the UCLA School of Law, where he graduated Order of the Coif and served as Managing Editor of the UCLA Law Review.
