Joanne Madden has joined LeClairRyan as a partner on the firm’s Product Liability and Transportation, and Labor and Employment teams. She will be resident in the national law firm’s San Francisco office.

Madden focuses her practice on labor and employment, product liability, transportation and general liability and casualty matters. She advises clients on contractual issues that arise in the representation of franchisees and franchisors, vendors and retailers, distributors and manufacturers, contractors, and public entities.

Her experience encompasses a broad range of civil litigation matters, including the defense of class action litigation in which companies were alleged to have violated California’s Unfair Competition Law, the Legal Remedies Act, and Proposition 65. Madden has experience counseling policyholders and insurers concerning first and third party coverage issues. She advises and defends clients before the courts, arbitrators, special masters, and administrative officers such as the Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the Labor Commissioner in employment disputes relating to discrimination and wage-hour claims.

Madden is graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law (J.D) and Santa Clara University (B.A.). She is admitted to practice in California.
