Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP (JMBM) is pleased to welcome John J. Lucas to the Firm’s Entertainment Litigation department. Previously with Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, Lucas has significant litigation and trial experience in both state and federal court, and represents talent, studios, television networks and independent entertainment production companies involved in the media, entertainment and Internet industries.
“John is an experienced entertainment attorney with a wealth of trial experience and a great track record,” said Jeff Goldman, Chair of JMBM’s Entertainment Litigation Group. “His expertise will be an asset to our clients.”
Lucas has litigated a variety of matters, including actions for breach of contract, interference torts, unfair business practices, misappropriation, copyright and trademark infringement, profit participation claims, idea submission claims, and media torts including defamation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity and misappropriation of name and likeness in all media, including the Internet.
“JMBM’s litigation team has an excellent reputation,” said Lucas. “I’m looking forward to being a part of an accomplished entertainment department that will assist me in continuing to grow my practice.”
Lucas received his J.D. from Loyola Law School, where he a Law Review editor, and his B.A from the University of Michigan.
