Arent Fox LLP is pleased to announce the addition of international litigator Malcolm S. McNeil as a partner in the firm’s Complex Litigation practice. Mr. McNeil joins the Los Angeles office and focuses his litigation practice on behalf of businesses that work in venture capital formation, retailing, textiles, aviation, manufacturing, trade, real estate, and publishing.

“Malcolm’s knowledge and resourcefulness when representing his clients’ interests at home and abroad have allowed him to develop an enviable track record in the courtroom and before a range of administrative forums,” said California Managing Partner Robert C. O’Brien. “He is a great addition to a Complex Litigation practice that is already widely recognized for developing strategic, cost-effective solutions.” This is the sixth partner to join Arent Fox in 2014, including the addition of white collar and corporate governance litigator Peter R. Zeidenberg earlier this week.

Previously the chair of the International practice at Fox Rothschild LLP, Mr. McNeil counsels domestic and foreign companies on a variety of business matters and has established deep contacts in Asia and Europe. Mr. McNeil routinely participates in cross-border negotiations and has established a network of important contacts in government, industry, and legal circles throughout the globe — particularly in China and Korea — who are available to assist clients in foreign countries.

Widely quoted on both national and international matters, Mr. McNeil played a key role in the Shenyang Hi-Tech Development Zone and participated in trade discussions during Hong Kong’s transition to China. A graduate of Loyola Law School, Mr. McNeil serves as Honorary President of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), Co-Chair of the American Bar Association’s China Committee of the section on International Law, and Past-Chair of the Los Angeles Bar Association’s International Law Section. Recognized as a Super Lawyer, Mr. McNeil is currently the liaison arranging consul general luncheons between the legal and consul general communities in greater Los Angeles.

Arent Fox’s Complex Litigation practice is recognized by Chambers USA for its “streamlined” approach that delivers “quality” results. With more than 125 litigators, the practice boasts a deep bench and international reach while having extensive experience in high-stakes litigation before federal and state courts and regulatory agencies. The group is especially proficient at managing parallel litigation in multiple jurisdictions and represents clients in matters that include intellectual property, health care, life sciences, trade, automotive, insurance, and human rights abuses.
