Deepening its bench of highly experienced trial lawyers, Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. has added Joshua Briones, a litigator specializing in complex class action suits, to its Litigation Practice. He joins as Managing Member of the Los Angeles office as the firm continues to expand its West Coast presence.

With a national practice and an impressive track record in all stages of the litigation and appellate processes in state and federal courts, Mr. Briones has represented scores of clients in consumer protection matters for more than 15 years. His clients have included the Los Angeles Lakers, the Cleveland Cavaliers, eBay, Inc., Pay Pal, Inc. and H&R Block, Inc, among others, and have spanned numerous industries, including consumer finance, insurance, telecommunications, manufacturing, environmental and pharmaceuticals. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in a number of challenging class actions involving privacy and regulatory matters; allegations of false or deceptive practices in marketing and advertising; as well as securities, antitrust, trade secrets, trademark and copyright claims.

Active in the community and a strong advocate for diversity in the legal profession, Mr. Briones is a fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, which is comprised of corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners dedicated to advancing a diverse U.S. legal profession. He is past president of the UCLA School of Law Alumni’s Board of Directors and a former adjunct professor of law on class actions in the U.S. for the Universidad Panamericana and the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (“ITAM”) in México City.
