Pryor Cashman is pleased to announce that entertainment industry veteran Ralph De Palma III has returned to the firm as Counsel in the Media & Entertainment Group. Based in New York, De Palma joins Pryor Cashman from Rayner Rowe LLP. Before entering private practice, he began his legal career in the Business Affairs Department of Sony Music, eventually becoming director of the group.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ralph back to the firm. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that is the perfect complement to the top-notch Media & Entertainment team we already have in place on both coasts,” said Ronald H. Shechtman, Pryor Cashman’s managing partner.
For more than 20 years, De Palma has counseled some of entertainment’s biggest names on all aspects of music, theater, film and television transactions, including licensing, talent agreements, financing and production arrangements, distribution agreements, and intellectual property acquisitions and dispositions. He also handles complex copyright, trademark and domain name disputes.
“Pryor Cashman is not only a well-recognized name in the media & entertainment space, it has a stellar reputation as a full service, midsized firm. I am honored to once again work alongside these smart and talented attorneys, and look forward to growing my practice in a very collaborative way,” said De Palma.
De Palma obtained his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and holds LL.Ms in both Taxation and Corporate Law from New York University School of Law. He earned a B.F.A. in Film and Television Production from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
