Latham & Watkins LLP is pleased to announce that Greg Robins has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as a partner in the Finance Department. Robins’ practice focuses on leveraged finance representing investment banks, commercial banks and other sources and users of debt capital in leveraged transactions.

Robins has played a lead role in a broad range of complex financings for leading financial institutions such as BNP Paribas, Goldman Sachs, UBS and Oaktree Capital Management.

“Greg has a very strong professional reputation and is well regarded in the leveraged finance community. Both his national presence and the local business relationships he has developed will be assets to the firm and our clients,” said Jim Beaubien, Office Managing Partner of Latham & Watkins in Los Angeles.

Andrew Faye, Chair of the firm’s Finance Department in Los Angeles, added: “Leveraged finance has been firmly established as a key option for a range of companies when they consider business-critical matters such as acquisition financing or debt restructuring. Greg adds a sophisticated knowledge of such transactions to our thriving practice in this area. In addition to his expertise advising large financial institutions, Greg will support our ongoing work with middle market lenders and non-traditional financing sources in leveraged finance transactions.”

Greg Robins commented: “Latham & Watkins and I agreed that my experience and skills are a great fit with the firm’s team-oriented culture, its client base and current market demands. I look forward to working closely with the talented attorneys of Latham’s Finance Department, several of whom I’ve met across the table over the years as we’ve negotiated transactions for our respective clients.”

Robins received his J.D. (magna cum laude) from the University of California, Hastings in 1996. He clerked for the Hon. Jerome Farris, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, after law school, and he joined O’Melveny & Myers LLP in 1997 and became a partner there in 2005 prior to joining Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP as a partner in 2007. He has been recognized as a “leading lawyer” by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.
