Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms, continues to add depth and experience to the firm’s Employee Benefits Practice Group in welcoming Benjamin Delancy as a shareholder. Delancy will be based in the firm’s Washington and San Francisco offices. Delancy has more than 30 years of experience focused in sophisticated benefits matters, including extensive experience in executive compensation for public and private companies. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Delancy was a partner at Morgan Lewis where his practice focused primarily on executive compensation, and also included qualified retirement plans, and health and welfare programs.

Delancy’s additional experience includes benefits program design, dispute resolution, plan investment issues, and fiduciary compliance. He also advises clients regarding their compliance with the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor guidelines, which are applicable to executive compensation arrangements, performance-based compensation, golden parachute payments, disclosure issues, Dodd-Frank compliance, and other corporate governance requirements. In his practice, Delancy also advises public and private companies regarding executive compensation issues arising in bankruptcy, and in connection with issues arising in mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.

Delancy is listed nationally in Chambers USA, noted by his peers for his exemplary work within the employee benefits field. He earned his J.D., with high honors, from the University of Georgia Law School where he was a member of the law review board and named to the Order of the Coif. He earned his B.A., with honors, from Dartmouth College.

With the addition of Delancy, Ogletree Deakins continues adding shareholders across the firm’s network of 40 offices including in Atlanta, Boston, Greenville, Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Memphis, Philadelphia, and Tampa.
