Kirkland & Ellis LLP represented a consortium of investors led by Stephen A. Kaplan, principal, co-portfolio manager of the Global Principal Group and member of Oaktree Capital Management’s Board of Directors, as part of Robert J. Pera’s $377 million acquisition of the Memphis Grizzlies NBA franchise, a deal that was approved unanimously by the NBA Board of Governors.
The Kirkland team was led by Los Angeles partner Hamed Meshki and associate Brandon Vongsawad.
