Dentons, the global law firm, today announced the opening of an office in Sacramento, California, located at 1415 L Street. Dentons’ Sacramento office, its 22nd in the United States, further extends the Firm’s reach in California, which also includes offices in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco/Oakland, San Diego and Silicon Valley. With a location in the heart of the state capital of California, the world’s sixth largest economy, the office will focus on supporting the regulatory and public policy representational needs of clients, as well as serve client requirements when meeting with governmental officials in Sacramento.

Marc Burgat, principal in the nationally ranked Public Policy and Regulation practice, will be resident full-time in the office. He serves as a key resource to Firm clients in Sacramento, working alongside colleagues across California, state capitals around the US and Washington, DC. Among others who will office in Sacramento include leading California political strategist Darry Sragow; George Broder, former advisor to Senator Dianne Feinstein when she was mayor of San Francisco; and prominent environmental lawyer and Prop 65 authority Stan Landfair. Members of the California policy and regulatory team also include former US Ambassador to Australia and former California State Bar Association president Jeffrey L. Bleich; John Russell, co-leader of Dentons’ federal advocacy practice and former advisor to a speaker of the US House of Representatives, a House majority whip and a campaign committee chairman; and Brian P. McGowan, former Deputy Secretary of Commerce in Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s administration.

“California is a market of tremendous importance for our national and international clients. Our Sacramento office provides an on-the-ground resource for clients in the California capital,” said Mike McNamara, Dentons’ US managing partner.

The Sacramento office further expands Dentons’ reach in California. The Firm recently consolidated San Diego offices at 4655 Executive Drive, and opened a location in Oakland at 1999 Harrison Street as part of its San Francisco/Oakland commitment to its clients.

This year the Firm announced the launch of Dentons 50, a full-service, 50-state public policy and advocacy network offering unrivaled reach and depth in state capitals across the nation for clients in all industry sectors. The Dentons 50 network is a comprehensive, centralized resource for businesses with complex, multi-state policy matters.
