Edison, McDowell & Hetherington LLP (“EMH”), a nationally recognized litigation boutique, announced today that it has opened a California office.

Highly regarded California trial lawyers Ray Tittmann and Jodi Swick are joining EMH as partners and will lead the firm’s presence in the Golden State.

“After years of handling cases in California, we are excited to open a California office to better serve our clients’ needs,” said EMH partner Andrew Edison. “Ray and Jodi are outstanding lawyers. Their addition to the firm further solidifies our national commercial litigation practice.”

Mr. Tittmann, formerly a partner with Carroll, Burdick & McDonough LLP in San Francisco, maintains a broad commercial and class action litigation practice. He received his juris doctorate degree from Notre Dame Law School, and has been involved in some of the biggest defense victories in California in recent years.

Ms. Swick, named earlier this year by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the 40 most influential young leaders under the age of 40 in the Bay Area, specializes in litigating class action, complex business disputes and insurance coverage matters across the country. She received her juris doctorate degree from the University of California at Berkeley and was also previously a partner in the San Francisco office of Carroll, Burdick & McDonough LLP.

“We are thrilled to be joining the EMH team,” said Tittmann. “Several years ago a client told me that EMH was his company’s favorite trial firm in the nation. I now understand why – lawyers of the highest quality, a tremendous work ethic, common sense advice and attractive rates. We look forward to growing EMH’s California practice and offering our current clients EMH’s nationwide platform.”

EMH is a national business litigation firm with significant depth in the energy and financial services sectors. Founded in 2009, the firm has grown to 33 lawyers with offices in Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth and California. EMH serves clients across the United States, having acted as lead counsel in 46 of the 50 United States.

The firm’s California office will be located at 1 Kaiser Plaza, Suite 1010, Oakland, California 94612.
