Continuing the trend of growing its corporate practice in California, Nixon Peabody has further expanded its West Coast M&A and Corporate Transactions practice with the arrival of partner Jinjian Huang to its San Francisco office.

“Jin has the right mix of corporate, real estate and China-related practice experience. He’s a skilled deal lawyer with an entrepreneurial spirit and brings a diverse range of transaction skills,” said Anthony Barron, managing partner of Nixon Peabody’s San Francisco office. “Jin is excited to join our firm as we continue our strong growth in our transactional practice on the West Coast, broadening our capabilities to meet our clients’ needs now and in the future.”

Fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese, Jinjian has significant experience doing China-related transactional work. “As Chinese companies increase their deal flow and expand operations in the U.S., our clients will benefit tremendously from Jin’s ability to communicate with them in their native language,” said David Cheng, leader of Nixon Peabody’s China practice. “Jin has a strong understanding of both Chinese and U.S. business cultures and can serve as a trusted advisor for Chinese companies doing business in the U.S.”

In addition to his corporate and real estate focus, Jinjian has extensive experience representing developers, tax equity investors, and lenders in the development and financing of solar and wind projects, bringing enhanced opportunities to Nixon Peabody’s Northern California practice.

“Jin is a terrific addition to our growing West Coast corporate and real estate practices. He is the rare combination of a superior corporate and transactional lawyer coupled with a strong real estate background augmenting our strengths,” said Tom Gaynor, leader of Nixon Peabody’s M&A and Corporate Transactions practice in California. “Jin brings the sort of dynamic energy that will help us to continue to attract other top talent as we continue our practice growth in Northern California. His deep transactional and sophisticated deal experience will greatly benefit our clients in their endeavors both domestically and internationally.”

Joining Nixon Peabody from Winston & Strawn’s San Francisco office, Jinjian graduated cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He earned his LL.M. from American University, Washington College of Law, and his LL.B. from Sun Yat-sen (Zhongshan) University, School of Law.
