Hanson Bridgett LLP is pleased to announce Kevin Heneghan, experienced political and election law attorney, joins the firm as partner in the firm’s Government Group. Kevin specializes in advising business entities, candidates, elected officials, labor unions, trade associations, and independent expenditure committees on a wide range of campaign finance, lobbying and governmental ethics law issues. He will be based in San Francisco and will head up the firm’s Political and Election Law team.

The addition of Kevin Heneghan and his expertise, creates a one-stop shop for organizations and individuals in the political arena. The firm currently provides a full range of campaign-related legal and regulatory services. Hanson Bridgett’s Government Group represents proponents and opponents of ballot measures at the state and local level, drafts initiatives and litigates pre and post election challenges. The firm also advocates for clients with regard to pending or new legislation and serves as a neutral evaluator in compliance proceedings at the local level.

Kevin has served as campaign counsel for candidates for statewide office, several State Legislators, and numerous elected officials in San Francisco and San Diego. In addition, he has advised clients involved in initiatives and referenda at the state and local level, and represented clients in enforcement actions before the Fair Political Practices Commission and the San Francisco, Oakland and San Diego Ethics Commissions. He received his B.A., with honors, from La Salle University, and his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Today’s news comes on the heels of several growth announcements for the firm this year including a new office opening in Walnut Creek, and the addition of several partners to firm ranks.
