Holland & Knight today announced that Faith Bruins has joined its San Francisco office as a partner in the firm’s Syndication Group. She was previously a partner with Nixon Peabody.

Ms. Bruins represents syndicators, direct investors, for-profit and nonprofit developers, lenders and deal sponsors in structuring tax credit transactions intended to maximize financial and tax benefits and community impact. For more than 15 years, she has worked with clients to structure and finance a variety of real estate development projects, including affordable multi-housing projects, museums, schools, medical and dental care centers, manufacturing facilities, shopping centers, commercial buildings and rooftop solar panel installations.

“Faith’s extensive knowledge of federal and state tax credit programs, debt finance, and partnership and tax law has enabled her to team with clients on highly complex transactions,” said Ted Hickey, who leads Holland & Knight’s Tax Credit Transactions practice. “She enjoys an excellent reputation in the tax credit industry generally and in the California market in particular, and will play a key role in growing the practice on the West Coast.”

“Holland & Knight is on the cutting edge of new and developing tax credits,” said Ms. Bruins. “Joining such a well regarded group of lawyers will help me to deliver the best strategic legal advice possible to my clients.”

Ms. Bruins received an LL.M degree in taxation from Boston University School of Law, a J.D. degree from Boston College Law School and a B.A. degree from Middlebury College.
