Holland & Knight today announced that real estate attorney Douglas Praw has joined the firm as a partner in the Los Angeles office. Mr. Praw has extensive experience in a wide range of real estate and public finance matters. He comes to Holland & Knight from Goodwin Procter.

“Doug is an excellent addition to our real estate practice in California,” said Susan Booth, head of Holland & Knight’s West Coast Real Estate Group. “He regularly represents some of the major players in the industry. His experience not only in real estate, but also in land use and finance, will be a valuable asset to the firm and our clients.”

Mr. Praw has a diverse real estate practice, which includes development, leasing, acquisitions, joint venture and financing transactions. He provides counsel to the spectrum of real estate investors, from developers, owners and borrowers to underwriters, municipalities, special districts and other governmental agencies.

“The breadth and depth of Holland & Knight’s real estate practice is impressive and will provide me the resources to better serve my clients,” said Mr. Praw. “This move represents a nice opportunity to expand the scope of my work for various clients and grow the Southern California presence for Holland & Knight.”

Mr. Praw has been recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal as one of the “Who’s Who in L.A. Law: Angelenos to Know in Real Estate Law” and selected by Real Estate Southern California magazine as one of the “40 Under 40” most successful and youngest stars of the Southern California real estate industry. He is also recognized as an Up and Coming real estate attorney by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. Mr. Praw received a J.D. degree from Southwestern University and a B.S. degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
