Matt Poppe joins Rimon Law as a Partner in its Palo Alto and San Francisco offices. His litigation experience spans a wide range of patent, other intellectual property, and commercial cases. Key clients include Varian Medical Systems, Dell EMC, eBay, Baidu, and Brocade. He has also represented a variety of Asia-based clients in U.S. litigation arising out of troubled business relationships.

Matt will continue litigating patent cases with a focus on computer networking, data storage, software, medical device, and semiconductor technologies. Matt will also leverage his substantial experience with trade secret, copyright, and trademark litigation, as well as general commercial disputes such as breach of contract and fraud claims and consumer class actions.

Prior to joining Rimon, Matt was a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP.

Matt is an active member of the Intellectual Property Owners Association and regularly speaks and writes on issues related to intellectual property law and litigation.

Matt is also committed to community service. Last year, Matt served as President of the Santa Clara County Bar Association. He has spent a decade on the Board of Directors of the Campaign for Legal Services, which conducts fundraising and coordinates events to support legal aid in Silicon Valley. He contributes pro bono time each year to clients in domestic violence, landlord/tenant, immigration, and consumer disputes.

Matt received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1994, with high honors, and his A.B. from Stanford University in International Relations & Economics in 1990, with distinction.
