Global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes Ellen L. Darling and Brendan M. Ford as partners in the firm’s Orange County office. Darling, Ford, and three associates join K&L Gates’ product liability practice from Snell & Wilmer L.L.P.

With extensive trial experience in the defense of complex civil actions in state and federal courts, Darling focuses her practice on product liability litigation involving prominent pharmaceutical, medical device, and other life sciences companies. She also has handled numerous medical malpractice cases for health care providers and medical laboratories.

Ford represents pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in product liability cases in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Experienced in defending false advertising and unfair competition consumer class actions, he also defends medical providers in false advertising and related negligence claims.

“We are delighted that Ellen, Brendan, and their team have joined our firm,” said David J. Perry, Administrative Partner of K&L Gates’ Orange County office. “Their work for life sciences companies is top notch and nicely complements our full service life sciences practice.”

The addition of Darling and Ford furthers the growth of K&L Gates’ Orange County office, which also recently welcomed partner Jan P. Weir and a team of associates to the firm’s intellectual property litigation practice.
