Venable LLP announces the addition of leading intellectual property litigator Susan E. Hollander as partner. Ms. Hollander brings with her a team of seasoned IP professionals, including Jocelyn Belloni, counsel; and Sharoni Finkelstein, associate. Two paralegals will join later this week. Ms. Hollander and her team join Venable from K&L Gates.
Having spent decades in intellectual property litigation and counseling, Ms. Hollander and her team have significant experience in trademark, copyright, unfair competition, trade dress, and false advertising cases. The group represents high-profile and leading brand-name clients in the technology, Internet, retail, consumer products, entertainment, finance, and healthcare industries and focuses on the prevention of genericism and dilution of brands. They have been responsible for several precedent-setting trademark decisions and jury verdicts.
“Venable has a top-tier national practice and a stellar reputation in the IP community, and the opportunity to build on their presence and offerings in the Bay Area was one I couldn’t pass up,” said Ms. Hollander. “With leading practices in advertising and data privacy, Venable will provide immediate added value to the growing needs of my clients.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome Susan’s team to Venable,” said James E. Nelson, Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s San Francisco office. “The addition of this dynamic team makes a strong statement about where we’re going as a firm and as an office. In fact, this office has tripled in size since opening in 2013. Our clients will greatly benefit from the extraordinary talent of this team.” Added William D. Coston, Chair of Venable’s Intellectual Property Division, “Susan is a renowned IP litigator. She and her team know and understand what it takes to protect high profile brands. They are a fantastic addition to our national IP practice, and to our California IP team led by Tamany Bentz.”
The Daily Journal has recognized Susan Hollander multiple times as one of the “Top Women Lawyers in California,” “Top 100 Intellectual Property Litigators in California,” and “Top Women Litigators in California.” Managing Intellectual Property – IP Stars has also recognized her as one of the “Top 250 Women in IP.”
