Marc Fernandez has joined the San Francisco office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP (DWT) as an associate in the firm’s employment and labor group.

Fernandez, who was previously an associate with the Palo Alto office of Morrison Foerster, LLP, has represented employers in both single plaintiff discrimination and wage and hour class actions. He has also counseled employers on complex personnel matters including termination and discipline decisions, non-compete and solicitation issues, reductions in forces, leaves of absence, employee privacy, and wage and hour issues. Additionally, Fernandez has presented sexual harassment and discrimination training seminars for clients, as well as taught MCLE courses for legal and human resource professionals regarding employment law developments.

Prior to beginning his practice at Morrison Foerster LLP, Fernandez was a summer associate at Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp LLP in Los Angeles.

Fernandez received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California – Davis, School of Law. While in school, Fernandez was president of the Law Students Association, senior editor of the Environmental Law Journal, “Environs,” and a board member of the Moot Court. He graduated from the University of Southern California, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in political science. Fernandez is a member of the State Bar of California.
