McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP (MLA) announces the addition of Jimmy Chen as Counsel in the firm’s Corporate practice in California. Based in Orange County, Chen’s experience includes mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, technology transfers and licensing, and various other transactional matters. He is the ninth addition to MLA’s Corporate practice this year.

“Jimmy’s addition is another strategic step in expanding our transactional services in California,” said Wayne Bradley, Corporate Department Chairman. “His experience combined with that of Mike Rule and the other transactional attorneys on the West Coast will further enhance the value and service we provide clients.”

Chen represents numerous clients in the food and beverage industry. Chen and Michael A. Rule, who joined MLA in July, are a powerhouse transactional and nationally recognized restaurant team. They regularly serve as outside general counsel to clients in this industry to provide companies with comprehensive legal services.  In addition, Chen has extensive experience representing Internet companies and other high-tech startups. Prior to his legal career, he spent several years as the Director of Marketing at a publicly-traded Internet company. Chen also represents clients in the health care, nutritional supplements, mobile applications and automobile parts industries.

“It is an invigorating time to join MLA and its Corporate practice as it continues to grow,” said Chen. “The firm’s focus on client service and collaboration provides a solid foundation for me to work with my new colleagues to advise clients on their legal and business issues.”

“Our presence in Southern California, and specifically, in Orange County, is growing,” said Jess Bressi, Managing Partner of the Orange County office. “Mike and Jimmy are important players in this expansion and will be key in continuing to grow our presence here.”
