Given the pace of change in today’s market environment and an increase in investment opportunities for our private equity clients, we are pleased to announce the expansion of our private equity capabilities on the West Coast with the addition of Marc Kenny, who joins us as a new partner to our private equity practice.

Based in Nixon Peabody’s Los Angeles office, Mr. Kenny counsels clients in a broad range of domestic and cross-border private equity, M&A, venture capital, securities, and corporate finance transactions with a particular emphasis on the digital media, communications, technology, entertainment, health care, and energy industries.

“Marc is a business-minded partner who’s focused on what opportunities lie ahead for our clients,” said Seth Levy, managing partner of Nixon Peabody’s Los Angeles office. “He has an exceptional network of relationships and will leverage his connections to make strategic introductions to help our clients grow their businesses.”

“It’s a dynamic, challenging, and exciting time for the private equity industry. The middle market presents great opportunities for dealmakers,” added John J. Koeppel, head of Private Equity Funds for Nixon Peabody. “Marc’s experience in the middle market will be a tremendous benefit to our clients as we expand our nationally recognized private equity practice in California,” noted Philip B. Taub, co-head of Private Equity Transactions for Nixon Peabody.

Nixon Peabody is one of the leading law firms in the world advising institutional investors, private equity funds, and portfolio companies. Over the past nine years, Private Equity Analyst has consistently ranked Nixon Peabody among the most active law firms for private equity and venture capital transactions (#14 in 2013), as well as for fund formation and investments (#4 in 2013).

Prior to joining Nixon Peabody, Mr. Kenny worked in London, Silicon Valley and Los Angeles, and was most recently a partner in Davis Wright Tremaine’s Los Angeles office. He received a B.A., cum laude, with an honors degree in political science from Bucknell University, and a J.D., cum laude, from Boston University School of Law.
