Covington & Burling LLP is pleased to announce that Nora Gibson, a well-regarded capital markets lawyer, has joined the firm’s corporate practice as a partner. She will be resident in the firm’s San Francisco office.

Ms. Gibson advises companies and underwriters in initial public offerings and other capital market transactions. She has led more than 100 initial public and follow-on offerings, primarily by growth-oriented technology and biotechnology companies based in Silicon Valley.

At a prior firm, Ms. Gibson was part of the highly regarded China corporate team that recently joined Covington’s China and Silicon Valley offices, including Carmen Chang and partners Michelle Edwards, Eva Wang and Scott Anthony.

Ms. Gibson will be part of the firm’s Securities and Capital Markets group that currently includes partners in New York, Silicon Valley, Beijing, Washington and London.

Ms. Gibson received her J.D. from University of San Francisco Law School and her B.A. from University of California, Berkeley.
