Nossaman LLP adds Anthony Arostegui and Sylvia Arostegui as partners in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. Mr. and Ms. Arostegui will be based in Nossaman’s Sacramento office.

“Tony and Sylvia are precisely the type of laterals we’re seeking to attract in our ongoing effort to strategically grow the Sacramento office,” stated Mary Powers Antoine, administrative partner for the Sacramento office. “Both the Arosteguis have outstanding reputations, particularly within the Sacramento real estate market, and we couldn’t be happier that they are joining us during this exciting time for the firm.”

Mr. Arostegui’s practice is focused on complex transactions involving the acquisition and divestment of real estate, commercial leasing and real estate financing. His clients include both public and private real estate investors, developers, brokers, landlords, tenants, lenders and borrowers.

“It is clear to me that Nossaman is committed to strategic growth in Sacramento as shown by its move to its new office and recent lateral activity,” said Mr. Arostegui. “The firm already has an established presence in the Sacramento market having been here for more than 25 years and certainly has a highly regarded, comprehensive and diverse real estate practice across the state. The transition to Nossaman is an excellent opportunity for me and my clients to realize the benefits of a fully-integrated, 160-lawyer and lobbyist law firm that has the flexibility and personal touch of traditionally smaller firms.”

Mr. Arostegui, who is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, is a Northern California Super Lawyer in the area of real estate, a member of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys and the Lambda Alpha Honorary Society, and has lectured on a variety of real estate topics to both lawyers and non-lawyers throughout the state.

Ms. Arostegui represents clients in a variety of complex commercial real estate development and loan transactions. She represents developers and investors in the acquisition, disposition (including REO properties), leasing, financing, development and construction of projects. She advises borrowers and lenders in the context of acquisition financing, seller financing, construction financing, permanent financing, mezzanine financing, loan workouts and forbearances, and distressed real estate investments, in addition to providing legal opinion letters on behalf of borrowers in such loans. Ms. Arostegui’s experience also includes representing landlords and tenants in all types of leasing.

“I am very pleased to be part of a firm that is committed to cultivating and sustaining professional women, as is evident in the percentage of female equity partners that surpasses the national average,” commented Ms. Arostegui.

As part of its plan for expansion, Nossaman moved its Sacramento office to the top floor of the city’s signature U.S. Bank Tower at 621 Capitol Mall on June 1. The firm had been previously located at 915 L Street since 1985.
