Polsinelli adds three shareholders from Top 100 & 200 Am Law firms to the Los Angeles office to practice nationally. The firm welcomes highly experienced attorneys Noel S. Cohen, who focuses on commercial litigation; Richard C. Giller, who adds new insurance recovery capabilities; and Travis F. Jackson, who joins and complements the nation’s fourth largest Health Care Practice. All three are excited to join Polsinelli and enthusiastic about growing the Los Angeles office.

“I’m very happy to be here,” said Cohen, from his office in Century Plaza Towers. “I could not pass up the opportunity to help build a first generation law firm in Los Angeles, and my litigation colleagues nationally have an outstanding reputation coast to coast.”

Cohen combines strong advocacy skills, litigation experience and an understanding of clients’ business goals to deliver results in high profile and novel cases through settlement, arbitration and trial. His litigation practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, employment litigation and class action defense. He is actively involved in the community in various organizations including Race to Erase MS and C5LA, a youth leadership program. Public Counsel honored Cohen as the Pro Bono Attorney of the Year 2012.

Giller adds new depth to Los Angeles with a sophisticated Insurance Recovery Practice. He brings nearly 30 years of experience in complex commercial disputes. A strong advocate for policy holders, he focuses his practice on recovering insurance benefits for his clients from reluctant insurance companies. He has represented institutional policyholders across the country in complex business disputes with insurers, and in that capacity, he has successfully secured hundreds of millions of dollars of defense and indemnity payments for clients under a variety of insurance lines. He is also a member of the Los Angeles Chapter of RIMS, (Risk Insurance Management Society).

“I was impressed with the leadership and Midwestern culture of the firm,” said Giller. “And the fact that Polsinelli is now an Am Law 100 firm further solidifies the decision I made to join the firm.”

Jackson joins the firm’s growing and highly respected Health Care Practice which serves large, national health care organizations. Jackson identifies practical options to address the challenging issues facing hospitals and nonprofit organizations in today’s rapidly changing regulatory environment. He has experience assisting clients with a variety of tax and transactional matters to satisfy business objectives while also furthering their missions. Jackson serves as the vice chair for Tax and Finance of the American Health Lawyers Association.

“The healthcare industry is evolving so quickly which necessitates being ahead of what is coming for your clients in the highly regulated environment,” said Jackson. “Polsinelli and the Health Care Practice offer my clients a business-minded approach to finding solutions. I’m very excited to be part of this team.”
