The law firm of Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP is pleased to announce that Ted Cominos, a private equity lawyer who focuses on emerging markets, is joining the firm as a partner. Cominos will divide his time between Los Angeles, London and other offices of the firm, performing significant cross-border work in various jurisdictions.

On behalf of his private equity clients, Cominos organises and steers sophisticated mergers and acquisitions in emerging markets and other locations. He also orchestrates major club deals, LBOs, MBOs, take-private financings, and pre-IPO financings. In addition, he has significant experience in private equity fund formation and administration, as well as cross-border acquisitions and financing, corporate commercial matters, and capital markets. Chambers Global, the respected legal directory, described Cominos as “careful, proactive and results-oriented – probably the best private equity lawyer in town”, and as “an important anchor for corporate and private equity work, being described by interviewees as ‘one of the best’ with both clients and peers.” He also was ranked in the 2012 Clients Guide of Chambers Global as a “leading lawyer in Corporate/M&A.”

Cominos comes to Edwards Wildman from CMS Cameron McKenna, where he was a partner and the head of international private equity before deciding to relocate due to family reasons. Previously, he was the head of Linklaters’ CEE private equity group.

Edwards Wildman’s private equity practice was recognized by Dow Jones, which recently ranked the firm ninth globally in its list of private equity and venture capital deals closed in 2011. The firm also was ranked 14th for fund formation in Dow Jones’ list of the most active law firms by number of funds.
