In a significant move towards increasing the power and depth of its Corporate Practice, Richardson & Patel LLP announced that Marc Jones, whose experience includes representing private equity and venture capital firms, has joined the firm as Partner in its Los Angeles office to launch and lead a new Private Equity Practice.

Prior to joining Richardson & Patel, Mr. Jones was a Partner at Goodwin Procter and prior to that was with McDermott Will & Emery for 14 years, most recently as Partner.  He graduated in 1995 from UCLA with a joint JD-MBA and from UC Davis in 1989 with Bachelors degrees in Philosophy and Political Science.

“Marc’s background in working with complex financing transactions in the world of Private Equity greatly increases our corporate bench,” said Nimish Patel, Managing Partner.  “The financing markets have been in a constant state of flux since the stock market crash of 2008. Having Marc on board has extended our reach in to an ever growing area of capital formation to adapt to the challenges companies face in raising money in a complex environment,” added Mr. Patel.

“The venture capital and private equity markets have undergone significant change in recent times,” Mr. Jones said. “I was attracted to Richardson & Patel because of their broad base of middle-market clients and reputation for being creative in its fee arrangements, allowing me to service my clients in an increasingly price sensitive environment,” he added.  In closing Mr. Jones added that “Their culture of keeping sight of the business goals of its clients was additionally attractive and I’m looking forward to this new partnership.”
