Troutman Sanders LLP announced today that Eddie Rodriguez has joined the firm’s Corporate practice as a partner in the San Diego office. Rodriguez comes to Troutman Sanders from Mintz Levin.
Rodriguez’s practice focuses on corporate and securities matters, including corporate formation, mergers and acquisitions, venture financing, technology licensing and general business counseling. He has extensive experience representing both public and private companies in industries, including medical devices, mobile, life sciences, healthcare, telecommunications, software, hardware, e-commerce and information technologies.
“Eddie’s level of experience across such a broad array of industries is impressive and will greatly benefit our clients,” said Andrea Farley, Chair of the firm’s Corporate department. “He has a unique strength in counseling emerging growth companies, including in the life sciences industry, which is an expanding practice for the firm.”
“Eddie has a strong reputation within the San Diego legal and business communities,” said Michael Whitton, managing partner of the firm’s San Diego office. “His broad transactional experience, working with both emerging growth and established companies, aligns well with our corporate practice. Also, his background advising companies in a variety of different technology areas, including working collaboratively with intellectual property lawyers on corporate growth strategies, will be of great value to our diverse West Coast client base.”
With the addition of Rodriguez, Troutman Sanders has added thirteen lateral partners on the West Coast in the past two years. “Troutman Sanders has a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture, and I’m excited to continue expanding my work in the San Diego startup and business communities,” said Rodriguez. “In addition, the firm’s China practice will be of great benefit to my clients that are active in that market.”
