VLP Law Group LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Jeremy A. Cubert and Richard N. Kimball. Jeremy will join the Intellectual Property Practice Group as a partner based in the Washington D.C. area. Richard, based in Boston, focuses on corporate and transaction matters.

Jeremy A. Cubert joins VLP with over 17 years of experience in intellectual property law with a focus in the life sciences. He assists companies in all aspects of protecting and managing their intellectual property portfolios, including a significant practice in IP due diligence and portfolio analysis as well as counseling clients regarding the acquisition and licensing of intellectual property assets.

Before joining VLP, Jeremy was partner in the Intellectual Property Group at Dickstein Shapiro in Washington, DC and a partner at the Clinical Technology Transfer Group in McLean, Virginia. Prior to that, he was also a staff attorney at the Federal Trade Commission and Technology Transfer Specialist at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Jeremy is a graduate of the George Mason University School of Law, and holds a Master’s Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and a B.A. in Biology from Rutgers University. He is admitted to the bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland and the USPTO.

Richard N. Kimball joins VLP as a member of the firm’s Corporate, Emerging Growth Companies & Venture Capital, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Securities & Capital Raising Practice Groups. Richard has over 23 years of experience representing investors and issuers in more than 200 domestic and international venture capital financing transactions of technology and life sciences companies and over a dozen issuers in initial public offerings before the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Prior to joining VLP, Richard was a Corporate Partner at Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP. He is admitted to the State Bar of Massachusetts.
