National law firm Wilson Elser has tapped Dean Rocco, formerly a partner with Jackson Lewis, to bolster its already strong national Employment & Labor practice. Mr. Rocco is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
With Mr. Rocco, Wilson Elser’s Employment & Labor practice in Los Angeles and San Diego now comprises more than 20 attorneys who advise clients on evolving workplace law issues and defend employment litigation when it arises.
Mr. Rocco represents employers of all sizes and geographic reaches. He maintains a significant employment litigation practice covering a broad range of cases including breach of employment contract, discrimination and harassment, violations of disability and medical leave laws and wrongful termination. He frequently litigates individual, representative and class action lawsuits asserting wage and hour violations. Mr. Rocco also has successfully prosecuted unfair competition actions against employees engaged in misappropriation of trade secrets.
“Dean’s extensive and varied background in employment law complements and enhances our growing employment practice in Southern California and nationwide,” shared David S. Eisen, regional managing partner of the Los Angeles office. “He is highly regarded by clients and colleagues for his proactive risk mitigation work through the advice and counsel part of his practice, and the aggressive and effective manner in which he handles litigation.”
Clients value Mr. Rocco’s knowledge and perspective, which he uses to help them navigate difficult personnel issues, manage employees with disabilities and medical leave rights, comply with wage and hour regulations, build sound personnel policies and train managers and employees.
“The advice and counsel portion is central to our practice and a critical component to helping clients maneuver through the numerous and often confusing labor and employment laws and regulations,” added Mr. Eisen. “With Dean and future lateral hires, we will continue to grow this important part of our practice, which helps our clients minimize risk and avoid litigation.”
Mr. Rocco earned his Bachelor of Arts from University of Michigan and his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law.
