Cooley LLP announced today that it advised client MLIM, LLC (owned and controlled by Papa Doug Manchester) in the purchase of San Diego’s daily newspaper, the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The Cooley team advising on the transaction was led by partner Michael Levinson and included partners Samantha LaPine and Steve Przesmicki, associates Brandee Fernandez and Karen Hernandez and partner Thomas Welk.
Also, in March, a San Diego-based team of Cooley attorneys advised client Manchester Financial Group (also owned and controlled by Papa Doug Manchester) on the $570 million disposition of Manchester’s Grand Hyatt hotel in downtown San Diego to Host Hotels & Resorts. It is the largest domestic hospitality transaction that has closed this year.
