A team of Loeb & Loeb LLP attorneys represented KCET, the nation’s largest independent public television station, in a merger with Link Media, an independent non-profit media company, to create KCETLink, a new independent public media network.

The newly-formed non-profit organization will be aimed at acquiring, producing and distributing programming targeted to a national audience across television, web and mobile media platforms. KCETLink will be available to 33 million combined DirecTV and Dish subscribers and 5.6 million Southern California households.

The Loeb & Loeb deal team representing KCET in this transaction was led by Corporate partners Channing D. Johnson and Chelsea A. Grayson, and included partner Alyse N. Pelavin, who advised on the tax-exempt aspects of the merger, partner Marla Aspinwall, who handled all ERISA matters related to the transaction, and associate Erin M. Smith, who handled employment matters.
