Sidley advised Flextronics International in the acquisition of Motorola Mobility’s manufacturing operations in Tianjin, China, and assumption of the management and operation of its Jaguariuna, Brazil facility.
The international Sidley team was led by partners Tom DeFilipps, Karen Dreyfus and Yabo Lin, and counsel David Witek in Palo Alto, and was supported by partner Mark Raven in Chicago, partner David Went in London and counsel Lei Li in Beijing. Drawing from the firm’s extensive experience in dealing with cross-border acquisition transactions, Sidley provided counsel to Flextronics in negotiating the acquisition agreement and, importantly, the closing of the transaction on an accelerated timetable. Sidley also assisted with all worldwide merger control filings.
