Weil’s Silicon Valley office is advising on a trio of major acquisitions – representing Oracle, Opera and Merz – in deals that were announced over the span of one week. The teams on all three deals are led by Silicon Valley-based partner Keith Flaum, and include lawyers from Weil’s Silicon Valley, New York, Dallas and Washington, DC offices.

Weil is advising leading technology company Oracle in its agreement to acquire MICROS Systems, a provider of integrated software and hardware solutions to the hospitality and retail industries, for approximately $5.3 billion. The team is led by partner Keith Flaum and includes partners Richard Climan and James Griffin, along with associates Tyler Tassin and Cristiana Blauth Oliveira, with assistance from summer associate Marissa Cohn. Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits partner Amy Rubin and Employment partner Jeffrey Klein are advising on employment issues, with assistance from associates Verity Rees, Aryeh Zuber and Brian Hamano. Also in the technology area, Weil is advising Opera Software in its acquisition of AdColony to become the world’s leading mobile video ad platform.
