Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that William (Bill) Rooklidge is joining the Orange County office as a partner. Formerly with Jones Day, Rooklidge will continue to practice intellectual property law with a focus on patent litigation.

“We are very pleased to welcome Bill to the firm,” said Ken Doran, Chairman and Managing Partner of Gibson Dunn. “Bill is a nationally recognized patent litigator with extensive trial and appellate experience. Our patent litigation practice is thriving, and adding someone of Bill’s caliber will help us continue to grow our practice while providing the highest level of client service.”

“Bill is an exceptional lawyer and a leader of the patent litigation bar,” said Jeffrey Reeves, Partner in Charge of the Orange County office. “His 30 years of experience in patent litigation, combined with his stellar credentials: a degree in mechanical engineering, an LL.M. in patent and trade regulation and a clerkship in the Federal Circuit, will complement our robust IP practice and benefit our clients. We are delighted to have him on board.”

“Bill is a superb patent trial lawyer, who has successfully handled a wide-variety of complex IP cases for leading technology companies around the country,” said Josh Krevitt, Co-Chair of Gibson Dunn’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. “Bill will be a terrific addition to our IP practice, and we are thrilled to have him join our team.”

“I am excited to join Gibson Dunn,” Rooklidge said. “I look forward to working with my new colleagues to continue to build upon the firm’s premier IP practice.”
