Dykema, a leading national law firm, announces that Janet R. Nalbandyan has joined the firm’s Litigation Department as senior counsel. Nalbandyan will be resident in Dykema’s Los Angeles office.

Nalbandyan’s practice focuses on complex commercial, corporate and business transactions and litigation. She represents a diverse array of industries, including financial institutions, receivers, real estate investors, developers and contractors, precious metals and coin dealers, and other small and large companies. She has extensive experience litigating claims of false advertising and unfair competition under the Lanham Act, as well as the California Unfair Competition and False Advertising Laws.

Mike Wippler, Office Managing Member of Dykema’s Los Angeles office, says, “Janet is not only a superb litigator, skilled in resolving business disputes, but she possesses a keen understanding of business and client strategic needs. In part, that’s what makes her such a valuable addition to our team.”

Dan Stephenson, Director of Dykema’s Litigation Department, adds, “Janet’s arrival bolsters the Firm’s proven strong litigation credentials. She fortifies our presence both in Los Angeles, and in commercial and financial services litigation, two cornerstone practices of our firm.”

Nalbandyan is a graduate of California State University, Northridge (B.A., magna cum laude) and obtained her J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law, where—in addition to her law practice—she currently serves as Adjunct Associate Professor of Law.

While in law school, Nalbandyan served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Harry Pregerson, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and to the Hon. Margaret A. Nagle, U.S. District Court, Central District of California. Prior to becoming an attorney, Nalbandyan had a career in banking and investment services and held Series 6 (Investment Company/Variable Contracts Representative), Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent) and Life Agent (Residential Insurance Producer) licenses.
