Barnes & Thornburg LLP announced today that David P. Schack has joined the firm’s Litigation Department as a partner in the Los Angeles office. Previously, Schack was a partner at K&L Gates.

Schack focuses his practice on two primary areas: insurance coverage litigation and counseling for policyholders and commercial litigation with an emphasis on real estate-related matters. In the insurance coverage area, he has helped business and individual policyholders resolve insurance coverage disputes throughout the U.S. through negotiation and litigation and has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of clients. These complex disputes involve many types of insurance policies, including commercial general liability, directors and officers, errors and omissions, employment practices liability, first-party property, fidelity/crime, motion picture/ television liability, professional liability, aviation, tour/event interruption and cyber risks. In addition, Schack’s commercial litigation experience includes the representation of commercial property owners, developers, commercial landlords and tenants as well as other complex business litigation.

Schack is the latest litigator to join the firm’s Los Angeles office in the past year, having also added appellate attorney Rachel Lerman in April 2014 and prominent trial attorney Alexander Calfo and his team in March 2013.
