Pepper Hamilton LLP announced that Mary L. Dickson has joined the firm as a partner in the Financial Services Practice Group, resident in the Los Angeles office.

Ms. Dickson represents lenders and servicers under the multifamily programs of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and private mortgage lenders engaged in mortgage loan origination and servicing. She handles apartment and commercial real estate financing throughout the country, with a particular focus on representing national clients in their West Coast operations. She represents clients in the development, negotiation, and documentation of loans for specialized, innovative, or unusual apartment financing, including transactions involving 1031 exchanges, ground leased properties, and mixed-use projects. She also provides advice and counsel regarding the origination, closing, sale, pooling and servicing of multifamily mortgage loans.

Ms. Dickson also has broad experience in real estate law and business transactions, including real estate purchase and sales, leasing matters, real estate finance and land use matters.

“Mary is a welcome addition to our nationally known Affordable Housing Practice, which now will have an active presence on the West Coast and allow us to better serve our West Coast-based lender, developer, investor and public clients, as well as our national client base,” said Richard P. Eckman, head of the firm’s Financial Services Practice Group.

Before joining Pepper, Ms. Dickson was a partner with Morgan Lewis in Los Angeles.

Ms. Dickson earned her J.D., cum laude, from Southwestern University School of Law in 1991 and her B.S. from Indiana State University in 1982. She is admitted to practice in California.
