The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce the establishment of the Firm’s second California office with the addition of seven attorneys and other professional staff from San Francisco’s Ongaro Law Firm. Opening on March 1, the office will be led by longtime San Francisco litigator David R. Ongaro and will remain in its current Financial District location. Thompson & Knight opened a Los Angeles office in October 2012.

“David and his team are experienced and effective litigators, and we have worked with them for common clients in California and elsewhere. We saw this as an opportunity to join with lawyers who we know and trust to expand our presence in California,” says Emily A. Parker, Managing Partner at Thompson & Knight. “The combination of our new offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco gives us a national platform from which to serve our clients.”

Thompson & Knight’s San Francisco office will focus on commercial litigation across a number of industries, particularly in matters involving products liability and labor and employment.

“I’ve worked with attorneys at Thompson & Knight for years, and we’ve enjoyed success in many cases,” says Mr. Ongaro. “This move will allow us to expand our services for clients in California and across the country.”

Mr. Ongaro has prosecuted and defended clients in complex litigation for more than 20 years. He was a partner in the national law firm of Perkins Coie before launching his own practice. Joining him in Thompson & Knight’s San Francisco office are Nevin C. Brownfield, Susan Q. Haines, Peter W. Hoefs, Glen Turner, and Amelia D. Winchester, and Cara Sherman will be based in the Firm’s Los Angeles office.
