VLP Law Group LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Jane Imperatore and Michael Kass as partners with an emphasis on Construction Law and Affordable Housing.

With over 14 years in Construction Law, Jane provides guidance to owners and developers, municipalities, general contractors and large subcontractors during design, construction, ongoing operations and the project close-out process. In addition, her trial attorney experience allows her to anticipate potential issues that may arise and to offer practical and cost-effective alternatives to avoid litigation and mitigate disputes.

“Jane Imperatore’s arrival substantially expands the depth of VLP’s construction law practice” says Byron Rodriguez. “Jane’s experience in Construction Law and especially related dispute resolution will be a great resource to our existing client base and support the complex development projects our clients are undertaking.”

Prior to joining VLP, Jane was a partner at Odin, Feldman Pittleman PC in Real Estate and Land Use for 10 years. She is a graduate of the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law, where she was a Virginia Law Foundation Grant Recipient. Jane has a B.A. with high distinction from the University of Virginia. She is admitted to the State Bar of Virginia and District of Columbia and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia. Jane is located in McLean, Virginia.

Michael Kass joins VLP as an Affordable Housing attorney. He is located in the San Francisco Bay Area and was formerly a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. With over 20 years of experience representing clients in diverse commercial matters, Mike will be representing real estate developers and other project sponsors in a wide range of real estate development and capital markets transactions with a particular focus on affordable housing and community development projects.

“Mike’s level of expertise and understanding of client service will add significant bench strength to our Affordable Housing practice,” stated Byron Rodriguez. “And his experience handling complex commercial disputes, including counseling clients on how to avoid and control litigation cost, will be a tremendous asset to all VLP’s clients.”

Mike is a graduate of the University of California at Berkley School of Law and received an AB in Economics from the University of Michigan. He is admitted to the State Bar of California.
