Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premier provider of legal services to technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises worldwide, today announced that Robert (Rob) Rosenblum and Susan Gault-Brown have joined the firm’s corporate and securities practice as partners. Based in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office, Rosenblum and Gault-Brown have extensive experience advising both financial services firms and operating companies with respect to sophisticated regulatory, transactional, and product development projects. Previously, they were partners at K&L Gates in that firm’s Washington, D.C., office.

Rosenblum and Gault-Brown routinely advise both financial services firms and operating companies on federal securities and commodities laws and related financial services regulations. Their clients include financial technology companies such as securities and loan trading platforms and crowdfunding platforms, as well as asset management firms, brokerage firms, private angel funds, venture capital funds, private equity funds, hedge funds, and real estate funds. Rosenblum and Gault-Brown also assist companies in determining whether they must register as investment advisers, investment companies and broker-dealers, and often help clients operate in a manner that achieves their business objectives without requiring registration.

Rosenblum earned a B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1982. After he received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1986, he held various positions at the Securities and Exchange Commission from 1986 to 1990, including in the Office of the General Counsel, in the Division of Corporation Finance, and as Counsel to SEC Commissioner Joseph Grundfest. Rosenblum then went into private practice, working at two law firms from 1990 to 1998, after which he joined K&L Gates as a partner.

Gault-Brown earned a B.A. degree from Duke University in 1993, and an M.A. degree from Washington University in 1996. She received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2000. After she clerked for a year in the Southern District of New York and worked as an associate in private practice from 2001 to 2004, Gault-Brown worked at the SEC for three years, eventually becoming a senior counsel in the Division of Investment Management’s Office of Chief Counsel. She joined K&L Gates in 2007.
