Barnes & Thornburg announced today that Peter Morris has joined the firm’s Litigation Department as a partner in the Los Angeles office. Previously, Morris was at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP, where he was partner in the Government Contracts, Investigations & International Trade Practice Group.

Morris is a litigator whose practice focuses primarily on white collar criminal defense, complex business litigation, health care matters and securities litigation. He has extensive experience in conducting internal investigations and defending and counseling companies and individuals in a wide range of federal prosecutions, including securities fraud, bank fraud, health care fraud, criminal antitrust, bribery, money laundering, tax evasion and environmental crimes. He is an experienced trial lawyer who has tried numerous civil and criminal cases representing plaintiffs and defendants.

“With government investigations and enforcement actions on the rise, Peter brings a wealth of experience that will benefit our clients as they seek to navigate the regulatory environment and compliance with their own risk management requirements,” said David Allen, managing partner of Barnes & Thornburg’s Los Angeles office. “His federal prosecution and private practice experience give Peter great credibility in these areas. We’re thrilled that he has joined our firm.”
