McGuireWoods LLP announced today that Molly White has joined the firm’s Government, Regulatory and Criminal Investigations (GRCI) practice group as a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office.

White brings years of trial and litigation experience to the firm, having previously served as senior trial counsel at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). She has prosecuted cases in all areas of federal securities enforcement, including accounting fraud, offering fraud, options backdating and market-timing, and has conducted investigations of securities laws violations, including complex financial fraud and insider trading. She will focus her practice on defending government and regulatory investigations and commercial litigation.

“Molly’s diverse experience, ranging from white-collar crime investigations to healthcare fraud to environmental litigation, will greatly enhance our GRCI presence on the west coast,” said Chuck McIntyre, chairman of the firm’s GRCI practice.

Richard Grant, managing partner of the Los Angeles office, added, “Molly’s vast experience in trying numerous high-profile cases adds depth to the firm’s complex litigation and government investigations practice in Los Angeles. We are proud to welcome her to the firm.”

Before joining the SEC, White served as litigation counsel at O’Melveny & Myers LLP in Los Angeles and as a law clerk to the Hon. Stephen S. Trott at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She earned her J.D. from the Loyola Law School in 1993, where she was editor-in-chief of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Red Mass for the Saint Thomas More Society.
