Angela S. Haskins, previously a partner with Baker Keener & Nahra LLP, has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as a partner in the Professional Liability; Elder Care; Product Liability and General Liability Practice Groups. Ms. Haskins brings to the firm her passion for defending healthcare professionals against claims of professional negligence and elder abuse. Her extensive alternative dispute resolution background enables her to identify issues necessary to bring about swift resolution of claims. She is intent on expanding her expertise and growing her practice.

“Angela will complement and enhance our already robust and thriving professional liability group,” said S. Christian Stouder, managing partner of Haight. “She is a seasoned attorney who benefits our clients seeking the best defense in professional negligence matters.”

The daughter of a career law enforcement officer, Ms. Haskins has been working in the legal industry since age eighteen when she handled the student citation appeal process at the The Ohio State University Department of Traffic, Parking & Public Safety and then as a secretary in a well respected Plaintiff’s Personal Injury/Product Liability firm while pursuing her undergraduate degree. While attending evening classes at Southwestern Law School, Ms. Haskins worked full time as a Case Administrator and became the first non-lawyer Director for the Center for Mediation at the American Arbitration Association. Five years as a principal at ADR International, Inc., a marketing consultancy group, provided further experience in the art of claims resolution. Unable to resist the call of the courtroom, in 2001, Ms. Haskins finally joined those trial lawyers she had admired for years.

Ms. Haskins is a member and Past President of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (WLALA). Ms. Haskins is also an ardent supporter of the Downtown Women’s Center and Break the Cycle. She is dedicated to improving the status of women in both professional and personal settings and to helping young lawyers navigate the practice of law and experience fulfilling careers.

“The Haight Brown & Bonesteel of 2014 impresses me as a firm that respects history and the values of loyalty, civility and dedication to client service and superior results while ever evolving toward the future,” said Ms. Haskins.

Ms. Haskins received her J.D. from Southwestern Law School in 1996 and her BS/BA in Marketing from Ohio State University in 1991.
