Mary Beth Sipos, Claims Counsel for Liberty Mutual Agency Corporation, has returned to Haight Brown & Bonesteel as a Partner in the firm’s Risk Management & Insurance Law Practice Group. She will be splitting her time between the San Diego and Orange County offices. She started her legal career at Haight working as a summer clerk and then associate, before taking a partner position at Musick, Peeler & Garrett in Los Angeles then going in-house at Liberty Mutual.

“With her superior legal and insurance industry knowledge as well as her valuable client-side experience, Mary Beth will be a huge asset to our firm and our clients,” says Managing Partner Chris Stouder.

While at Liberty Mutual, Ms. Sipos served as the Senior Claims Counsel in the insurance company’s San Diego office for the past 12 years. She advised senior claims and underwriting management for commercial and personal markets including property/casualty and workers’ compensation in California. She also managed a national coverage practice advising Specialty Claims on matters such as Chinese drywall, DuPont Imprelis and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill claims.

“Haight provided me with a solid legal foundation and a platform for a limitless future and I recognized this even as an associate,” says Sipos. “As a client of the firm, I really learned how much it also understood this business and the value of great service.”

Ms. Sipos received her law degree in 1986 from Boston University School of Law and got her A.B. from Smith College. She also attended Université de Paris IV, La Sorbonne. She received her CPCU designation in 2007 and is admitted to the California State Bar, United States District Court, Central and Southern Districts of California and United State Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
