Nossaman LLP today announced the expansion of its real estate practice in Southern California with the addition of Daniel J. Katz as a partner in the Firm’s Los Angeles office.  Mr. Katz joins Nossaman’s Real Estate Practice Group, where he will build on the Firm’s strength in a variety of real estate transactions, and will further enhance Nossaman’s focus on the healthcare industry.  Mr. Katz’s representation of healthcare clients includes facility purchases and sales, operating leases and management agreements, construction and renovation projects, as well as contracts with service providers.

“In addition to Dan’s general expertise in real estate transactions, his specialty representing skilled nursing facilities and related service providers strategically complements our Real Estate team’s expertise in the healthcare industry.  We are excited to have him join Nossaman,” said Kenneth Kramer, Chair of Nossaman’s Real Estate Practice Group.

Mr. Katz’s national real estate practice covers a wide variety of real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions of portfolio and single asset office, multi-family, medical, retail, resort and recreation, mixed-use, and industrial properties.  Mr. Katz also assists clients with the development, construction, management, financing, leasing, repositioning, and workouts of both domestic and international assets, real estate aspects of a wide variety of corporate transactions, and the acquisition, disposition, structuring, and capitalization of real estate companies.

Mr. Katz joins Nossaman from Silver & Freedman in Los Angeles.  His previous firms include Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker and Debevoise & Plimpton.  Mr. Katz received his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law and also holds a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Rutgers University.
