Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of attorney Athena Johns to the firm’s expanding San Francisco office. Ms. Johns joins the firm as an associate on the Electronics and Software Team in the internationally recognized Intellectual Property Department.

Ms. Johns is a registered patent attorney. Her practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, particularly in the areas of financial networks, consumer electronics, and software.

Ms. Johns received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she served as Editor in Chief of the Intellectual Property Law Bulletin and received a CALI Award for Excellence in Science and the Law. She received a B.S. in Engineering Physics, cum laude, from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, and was named Outstanding Graduate in Engineering Physics.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Johns provided acoustical consulting services as an engineer in San Francisco, California.
